A new mechanism of action for Bisphenol A's impact on reproduction
In our newest publication, we show that the common environmental contaminant and endocrine disruptor BPA interferes with the highly evolutionary conserved process of mitochondrial cholesterol transport, a crucial step in steroid hormone biosynthesis. We also show that co-exposing organisms to cholesterol prevents all reproductive effects stemming from BPA exposure in our model!
