New Post-Doctoral Position in the lab!
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Patrick Allard, in the Division of Life Sciences at UCLA. The overarching theme of the lab is to better understand the pathways that direct germline maintenance and how those could be perturbed by environmental stresses. Current projects focus on the mechanistic dissection of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance using a variety of model systems including the nematode C. elegans, and ESCs-derived mammalian Primordial Germ Cells. We are investigating how time and dose-specific perturbations of the epigenome at the early stages of germline development may alter the differentiation of these cells at later stages of development. In parallel, we are also investigating new mechanisms of inheritance and developing techniques in order to identify them. The position will require an independent, motivated and highly creative and resourceful individual.
